REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a natural and very relaxing, holistic therapy that works by stimulating reflex points on the feet and hands, which are believed to correspond with organs, systems and structures within the entire body. Reflexologists believe that by stimulating the circulation and autonomic nervous system, Reflexology may help with the elimination of toxins, improve circulation and help to boost the immune system, restoring energy and balance.

By putting gentle pressure on the feet it brings about a state of deep relaxation, and sense of wellbeing encouraging the body's own natural self-healing mechanism to 'kick in'.Almost everyone can benefit from the effects of Reflexology! It is suitable for all ages - the reflexologist will adapt the treatment to suit the 'client' however young, old, frail, sick or nervous they may be. Although reflexology is normally practiced on the feet, it can be done on the hands if necessary, so there is no reason to miss out!

REIKI

 In the west Reiki is often seen as a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes self-healing. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on form of healing in which the Reiki healer channels healing energy into the aura of the patient. Reiki harmonises and balances the chakras, releases blockages in the energy system, which may cause disease, and restores health by activating the body's own natural self-healing ability.

Despite its 'spiritual' nature Reiki has no dogma and has no conflict with any religion, so is fine for people of all beliefs or those of none at all! A Reiki healing session is a deeply relaxing experience which promotes calm, relieves stress and energises the entire system. Based on the free-flow of energy and working holistically it is able to restore homeostasis (balance) to the whole being, thereby allowing self-healing to take place.

The great thing about Reiki is that it only ever works for the greatest good of the person being treated and it is safe for all the family whatever their age or condition.Reiki treats the 'whole' person on all levels: mental, emotional and physical.

INDIAN CHAMPISSAGE (Head Massage)

Indian Head Massage an Ayurvedic treatment, not only works on the head, but also the shoulders, upper arms, neck and face before balancing the top three Chakras (energy centres) making it a truly holistic treatment to relieve the stresses and strains of everyday life in the 21st century.Champissage (Indian Head Massage) has been practised for over a thousand years in India as a tradition of family grooming. Although originally developed by women who used different oils according to the season to keep their hair strong, lustrous and in beautiful condition, barbers would often offer 'Champi' as part of the treatment when going to a client's house to cut hair.

Champissage was introduced to this country in the 1970's by Narendra Mehta MBE who, although blind from early childhood, is an accomplished Osteopath, Physiotherapist and Massage Therapist. Arriving in London to study Physiotherapy during the 1970's, he was surprised to discover that head massage was not included as part of the treatment given at the barbers; he later returned to India to research head massage wherever it was practised and during his journey he found the methods used varied from person to person: The barbers would concentrate on his scalp, while his mother and her women friends focused on treating the hair. In addition, everyone who worked with him had his or her own individual technique, which had been handed down and developed through the generations.

Because of his blindness his other senses are very finely tuned and he was able to devise a therapy that would bring the greatest relief to, not only the multitude of problems concentrated in the head, but also those of the neck, shoulders and upper arms. Narendra Mehta has continued to develop his techniques over the years and the treatment now includes gentle massage of the face and ears. Balancing of the body's energy now enhances the overall effect of the treatment.

Kansa Vatki Foot Massage 

Kansa Vatki Foot Massage is a deeply relaxing treatment that works holistically by rebalancing body, mind and spirit. I was introduced to the UK by Narendra Mehta, whohas been practicing 'Body Work' for over 25 years..Ayurvedic Foot Massage using the Kansa Vatki bowl has been in existence in India for centuries and works on the feet and lower limbs. The feet being the seat of the meridians and many nerve endings, neural receptors and marma points..

The treatment is conducted using a small metal bowl containing copper and zinc, which is lubricated with purified butter (Ghee) or oil, and rubbed against the soles of the feet and lower limbs to create the most relaxing treatment imaginable. The copper and zinc in the Kansa Vatki bowl are said to be a more powerful combination than even gold and silver in this application. Copper in Ayurvedic is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties in relieving joint pain and Zinc is known for its antiseptic properties in treating and preventing skin disorders.

As in reflexology, which targets 'reflex' points, corresponding with bodily organs and systems, Kansa Vatki Foot Massage gives attention to massaging'Marma Points', an important part of Ayurvedic Medicine.

Thermo Auricular Therapy (Hopi Ear Candles with Auricular Massage)

Earcandles have been used in ceremonial rituals dating back centuries to the ancient Siberians, and Asians. The name 'Hopi' comes from the Native American tribe, who it is said, introduced this gentle therapy to the West. Recent research shows that the ear candle is known to the "Hopi Fire Clan". It is predominantly used by the highest echelons in ceremonies.The word 'Hopi' means 'peaceful people' and the Hopis have been renowned for their healing and spiritual way of life.

Hopi Earcandles are a gentle way of moving earwax and stimulating a clearing sensation in ear, nose, throat and head areas. A deeply relaxing auricular and facial massage completes the session. Only Biosun Traditional Candles are used with the magican sent of honey, sage and camomile.

 

About me

I am a fully experienced and trained Reflexologist and long-time member of the Association of Reflexologists working in Ashford Kent.

I am also a Reiki Master Teacher of the UK Reiki Federation practicing Reiki and also Training others who want to lear how to use this gentle therapy.

I trained at Tonbridge College in Thermo Auricular Therapy with advanced Ottoscope training. 

I have Diplomas from The London Centre of Indian Champissage from the late Narendra Mehta MBE for both Indian Champissage (Head Massage that includes work on the back, shoulders, arms, neck, head , ears and face) and also Ayurvedic Kansa Vatki Massage.
