About Reflexology

Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive holistic therapy. It is based on the principle that there are reflex areas on the feet and hands which correspond to all the organs, glands, and parts of the body.

Reflexology uses a unique combination of finger and thumb pressure applied to these reflex points to promote positive physiological changes in the body. Stimulating these reflexes can help with many health problems in a natural way.

A reflexology treatment is tailored to each individual client and seeks to restore balance, improve circulation and blood supply to the body, encourage relaxation and invigorate the health of the client.

Maternity Reflexology

Reflexology is a wonderful treatment to receive when you are pregnant and specialist techniques are used to relieve and prevent all the conditions associated with pregnancy.

Using reflexology may also be really beneficial for couples seeking to conceive, for pain relief during labour and to help stimulate a faster healing process post-natal.

Thai Foot Massage

Thai Foot Massage developed around 20 years ago as an offshoot of Traditional Thai  Massage which has been practiced in Thailand for centuries.  Techniques from Traditional Thai Massage have been combined with elements of Chinese, Japanese & Korean reflexology, Shiatsu and Chinese massage to produce a treatment both stimulating and incredibly relaxing.

The treatment includes working the 'Sen' lines, a network of energy channels in Traditional Thai Medicine similar to the nadis and meridians of Ayurvedic medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine respectively.

Each treatment lasts one hour and follows a sequence which covers the knees, lower legs and feet using oils, working dry and using a specialist stick to work reflex points.  Brisk movements, precise pressure and long strokes give the recipient a wonderfully invigorating experience.

The relaxation that Thai Foot Massage brings to the feet and ankles and the muscles in the legs makes it a great treatment to receive, particularly for those who do lots of cycling or running.

Other benefits of Thai Foot Massage include:

•Improving circulation in the feet and legs - great for diabetics & pregnant women
•Stimulating lymphatic drainage – removing toxins and boosting immunity
•Encourages flexibility of the feet and ankles and relieves tension in the legs
•Promoting general wellbeing and better sleep
•Stimulates the body’s organ function
•Aids elimination
•Relief and prevention of tension, headaches, migraines, sinusitis & pre-menstrual syndrome

Facial Rejuvenation (Natural Facelift Massage)

Facial Rejuvenation (also called Natural Facelift Massage) is a natural, holistic treatment developed by Kundan and Narendra Mehta using ancient Ayurvedic techniques.

The treatment focuses on the face, head and neck using the hands to perform specific techniques that require no cream, oils or special equipment.

The specific techniques of Facial Rejuvenation work to free constrictions in the collagen and elastin fibres of the face and neck, ease tension that has built up in the muscles, as well as improve blood and lymphatic circulation and rebalance energy.

You may find that you benefit from a more vibrant, glowing and youthful appearance with improved skin tone, skin condition and elasticity. You may also find a reduction in puffiness, wrinkles and expression lines.

The treatment is incredibly relaxing and focuses on improving overall wellbeing and general health by using Ayurvedic energy balancing and stimulating acupressure points.  This may benefit people who have trouble sleeping or who suffer from stress-related conditions, as well as people who have sinus-related allergies.

Facial Rejuvenation may provide one or more of the following benefits.

  • Generates a glowing look; creates brighter more alert eyes
  • Tones & firms facial muscles; tightens facial contours & increases elasticity
  • Lessens wrinkles & habitual expression lines
  • Releases tension in surrounding muscles
  • Reduces dark circles & puffiness under the eyes
  • Improves skin tone; softens the skin; refines pores
  • Enhances supply of nutrients to skin cells
  • Promotes better blood & lymphatic circulation; increases elimination of toxins
  • Promotes a relaxed, more mobile and youthful appearance
  • Relieves stress-related symptoms such as headaches, eyestrain and insomnia
  • Encourages innate beauty, confidence and radiance
  • Balances the body’s subtle energy

The benefits of Facial Rejuvenation are cumulative. A course of six treatments, ideally once a week, allows for optimum improvements, to undo habitual facial expressions and to retrain the facial muscles. To maintain the benefits it is advisable to continue with treatments once a month.

Facial Rejuvenation can also be enjoyed as a one-off treatment for relaxation.

About me

I'm Debbie & I’m passionate about helping people feel good using natural therapies.

I qualified as a Reflexologist five years ago and since then have gained some valuable experience treating a range of conditions. As well as general Reflexology I offer Maternity-specific Reflexology, Thai Foot Massage and the wonderfully relaxing Facial Rejuvenation (Natural Facelift Massage).

I think reflexology is wonderful as it can help with so many different things. It’s an holistic treatment that has been used for centuries to help alleviate all kinds of ailments, from anxiety and infertility to dietary complaints and insomnia, as well as supporting mothers & mothers-to-be through conception, pregnancy, labour and post-natal.

I practice Thai Foot Massage, an invigorating massage therapy that encourages circulation by working on the feet, ankles, lower legs and knees.

Facial Rejuvenation is incredibly relaxing and promotes a more youthful, glowing complexion using techniques based on ancient Ayurvedic principles.

I have a calm and restorative approach and will use my specialist techniques to bring you physical and mental wellbeing.

I am based at the Goose Green Clinic of Osteopathy in East Dulwich.

I also practice reflexology at the Copleston Centre in Peckham, a community centre offering services and support for people with mental health challenges. I find this work very rewarding because of the profound effect alternative therapies can have on people's mental health, whether stress or anxiety related or more severe mental health challenges.

I look forward to helping you feel more balanced, energised and refreshed. Get in touch with any queries and I’ll get back to you.

I am a fully insured member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR) and the Complementary Therapists Association (CthA).
